Bizet had died and his friend Ernest Guiraud made some revisions that led to a successful reprise. The four-act ballet is only infrequently performed and contents beside the Danse Bohemienne music from the incidental music to Daudet’s play L’Arlesienne (Farandolle). The Danse Bohemienne starts with an elegant flute-solo and ends in a dazzling full-orchestra presto.
