Johann Strauss jr. composed a great amount of polka’s, mazurka’s and marsches to perform with his own orchestra that played on ‘dance soirees’ in Vienna. The Egyptischer Marsch Opus 335 is a beautiful example of Strauss’ rich oeuvre.
